  Daegwallyeong is located in an alpine area of 772.4m above sea level, showing the mountain climate characteristics. From June to September, fog occurs frequently, with an annual average of 11 fog days.

Regional topography and climate

  Daegwallyeong meteorological observatory is the eastern end of Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, and is blocked by rough and high mountains, forming a valley-shaped terrain. The average annual temperature is 6.6℃, and there are few days when the maximum temperature is more than 30℃, and the number of days below 0℃ is more than 110days. The average monthly temperature between June and October often does not exceed 20°C. In winter, weather changes and heavy snow phenomena are severe due to the influence of the Northeasterly.
